As a blogger, you always try to write as many pillar articles as possible, to leverage your blog. We all know that pillar articles are the building blocks of a blog. And they may live for a long time and stand as a reference.
So what are the things you need to take care while writing these must-see articles which will attract a great quantity of visitors over days, weeks, even years to come?
It is nothing but well crafted and planned writing approach. Before crafting your writing plan, you need to know the anatomy of an article.
The important parts of an article are, Topic, Title, Content, Keywords.
Also equally important are the ways, How you start your article? How you keep the reader engaged? How you conclude?
The Approach
Once you brainstorm your topic and finish your research, your actual writing process starts.
A good writing process includes four phases, Pre-Writing, Writing, Concluding, Revising, and Publishing.
Pre-Writing: Here you research keywords, Refine the information you have, and Organize your information.
Writing: This is where you prepare your article by transferring your idea into a traditional format. By now you have a Title, Introduction, One or more paragraphs of content.
Concluding: Concluding can be in different ways. By posing a question, By briefing what you said, By commenting an idea or topic with your opinion.
Revising: Revising is nothing but playing the reader. Be a Critique. Revising may include adding, deleting, modifying words, sentences and try to say more accurately and beautifully what your idea is.
Publishing: Publishing involves two parts. Proofreading and Beautifying. Proofreading is to check for any grammar mistakes, spelling mistakes, vocabulary and punctuation. Beautifying is adding any suitable images/graphics where needed.
Once you are through this stage, all you need to do is adding some tags, categorize and publish your article.
